August Guest Designer ~ Heikes AugenBlick

 Hello MIxed Media Academy Fans!

Today we have Heikes AugenBlick as our Guest Designer
She created an amazing project inspired by our moodboard this month.

Now over to Heike...

Hello everyone,

Welcome to my guest design project on the blog from Mixed Media Academy. I created for the August challenge a scrapbook layout 30cm x 30cm in mixed media style.

I started on a grey cardstock design paper from 13arts with two layers of clear gesso also from 13arts.
After my gesso was dry I added color glow to my page. Color glow is a metallic shine powder and I used two different color shades in blue. The next step was adding silver glitter, white acrylic color and bordeaux acrylic color with my palette-knife. After that I added my stencil design with Archival Ink and stencils from Hobby shop Sandra, a store here in The Netherlands. Now it was time for  my stamp images with stamps from ScrapFx Australia, LaBlanche and LostCoast Design and black  ink. Some parts of my black stamp images are covered in black embossing powder from WOW. For more texture on my layout I added blue hot wax to my page. Then I painted randomly with black acrylic paint. After everything was dry I glued my photo of my youngest daughter Mia and I added a photo transfer from a polar bear to my background. Final touch markmaking with a posca pen and some tiny stickers from Tim Holtz.
I think I created a perfect scrapbook layout for this awesome mood board with the title
"Be messy and complicated and show up anyways".
Actually for me a mixed media project must always be wonderful messy... that's just part of it, at least for me!! It doesn't have to be complicated.
I hope I was able to inspire you a little bit to join in with this challenge. I in my case would like to say thank you to MMA for the invitation to be guest designer, it was fun for me and I feel very honoured.

Here are some close-up pics of the project:

Thank you Heikes for this stunning project.

August 2nd DT Reveal

                                                    Hello Mixed Media Academy Fans...
Today we are back with some inspirations from our Design Team for this month's challenge.
Join us, follow all rules and win some fabulous sponsor prizes.

Check out the Rules here

Being messy with my project is difficult for me. I love my projects clean and colorful. The colours f this month's moodboard are fabulous and I loved playing with them. I am a messy crafter so in my project I'm showing how difficult it becomes to search my crafty materials while creating a project.
But crafty and genius people are messy in real life so I love to think that way.

Sometimes it's good to be a little bit messy. Let's fly and make some mess!

Hello creative souls! Margarita Shkludova is here with you.
This month we have such an unusual, bright moodboard. I love the contrasting color scheme and the theme of our challenge. I have prepared for you a layout full of freedom, passion and drive. Don't be afraid to be a little crazy! Our weirdness is our inner magic! Breathe deeply, create freely, be yourself!
Join us in this incredible challenge!
Bye-Bye!

Hello everyone, I am sharing an art journal inspired by our August Challenge mood board. When it comes to my style of crafting, I am messy, I love to experiment with different backgrounds using different type of mediums. The words Be messy and Complicated are main focus of my project. I made a messy background for my art journal and added a sentiment which depicts everything is complicated if no one explain it to you nicely. I hope you will love it.

This mood board is definitely a challenging one for me, because I am a kind of an organized person & I always prefer my projects to be perfect. But I really enjoyed making this one, I tried the messy background with bit Color pop outs from the mood board.

Hi all.. Here is my project for August. Personally I do not like messy things in my life and also don't like messy projects at all. So this moodboard is challenging for me. Hope I have quite justis with the moodboard. I honestly I really enjoy to make it.😊
This delightful quote shares that life is messy, complicated, full of fear and worrisome things, life is also glorious & adventurous, simple, full of wonder and collect some amazing things. Don't let those seeming imperfection ,stop you from embracing who and what you are and showing up for your life. I've got this embrace it all and show up.

Do you feel inspired!

August Challenge

Hello and welcome t another exciting challenge at Mixed Media Academy.
This month we want to make some mess and use our colour palette in your project.
Here is our lovely moodboard.

To win a prize you must make a project around our Modboard
and follow all rules mentioned below.

Now over to our Design Team for some creative inspirations

Hello, When I saw this challenge I thought - it must be art journal page. I’ve used tissue paper in random places and then covered whole page using dylusions paints. In the next step I’ve used one of colors with a stencil. After drying, I used stamps with black ink and added splashes. To finish my project, I used a sticker with text and a photo of girl cut from paper. In this project I wanted to show a girl who created a graffiti on a wall and now she is telling us "me?? nooo".

I'm one person who cannot stand mess around. Being messy is not my style even in art work. This is one of the most difficult topic that I have ever done. But this was fun. I loved the colours from the mood board and ended up doing this.

Hello beautiful ladies
This is my project for August
like to be messy sometimes it makes me get into proportions sometimes and realize that not everything has to be perfect in life.
This time I chose to focus on my main object which is the butterfly.
I made a messy background from acrylic paints and printed a butterfly on it.
Behind the frame I printed a sentence that I very much identify with.

Messy v interesting moodboard this time
As we know our favorite and role model of youngsters SSR (SUSHANT SINGH RAJPUT) is not between us, it's shocking and unbelievable news ,its forced to think me
A actors life seems v glamorous from outside but its like quite messy internally there is many shades behind all.
I tried to show this from this creation

Hello ...
I have created an art journal page ! Love to create this messy background... this bright and lovely colours adds more interest !
Country life is little messy life but who used to live there doesn’t like to live anywhere else in the world ! They have their own happiness and peace around the messy surroundings. They are happy with in their own world.

Hello, creative friends! Today I'd like to share with you my "messy" project. I was inspired by art of Jean-Michel Basquiat, very expressive artist from USA. I'am really messy person, so this month i can be myself))

Do you feel inspired!
