April 2nd DT Reveal

 Hello and welcome to 2nd DT reveal for the month of April. This month we have a colorful mood board with shades of rainbow as color inspiration. All you have to do is follow our color scheme (in the circles) below the mood board and make a project to participate

Our Challenge is based on QUOTE & COLORS

Colors in the April mood board are very spring and sunny. I used yellow, mint and grey shades from the color palette. I used the can theme from one of the mood board photos and I added flowers and buttons. Freshness is essential. For me corresponds with fresh and sunny beginning of spring and with fresh energy which children gives to us with every smile. That little dose of sunny energy makes a difference.

I associate freshness with spring. That's why the new mood board inspired me to transform an embroidery hoop into a spring wreath. I chose the mint color to be the main one. The items I liked from the mood board were buttons and flowers. Spring without flowers and birds is impossible, right? So I added birds and handmade fabric flowers. Spring is here! LOve all the fresh and bright colours of spring. We have an amazing moodboard to join us this month. I am inspired by its colours and watering can image. I love to do gardening as I am always attached to Nature. So tried to add all beautiful flowers and cute little birdie to inspire you all this month.

Hello !!! Today I will inspire you @scrapnelli on our April mood board

I wanted to remake the box in which the mug was once presented.

And here she lay idle for a long, long time!

A little time, paper, textured paste and paints and it turned out to be a great box for the right things!

For the lock, I used alcohol ink and some wax.

And how she transformed)

Hello Everyone!!

Here is my project for April challenge. Lovely summer colors and pastel tones with amazing mood board elements inspired me to create this hanging board which can be used as nameplate or keyholder. This is made with the scrap mdf pieces joint together to give a plank look and embellished with various MDF, and resin embellishment with beautiful flowers.

Hello people! This month's mood board reminded me of weddings and freshness. I make this mixed media Photo frame from scratch for my Maa-Papa's 39th Anniversary! Even after 39 years of being blissfully married, these two share a love which is as fresh as the morning flowers and dew. The car reminded me of this quote which I read about Marriage and Cars. It said, "Just like a car, a marriage requires scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance. Often expensive, and likely intensive. Like a car requires careful care, marriage requires both effort and attention to pull through." My parents are living example of this. The quote on the mood board inspired me to write a quote on my parents' picture too...A wish for their anniversary. Hope you liked the project inspired by our April Mood board

The colours of the April moodboard were just so Spring-like to me, 

and what says Spring more than a nest of little chicks just waiting to 

hatch into beautiful birds. Spring is such a great time of the year when 

everything is fresh and new and bursting with life and I really enjoyed 

creating this bright little nest.

Guest Designer ~Sneha Vohra

Greetings of the day Everyone!
I Sneha protean crafter, welcome you all to my guest post for mixed media academy.

First of all I want to give my heartfelt thanks to MMA  for having me here on the blog as a guest designer. I feel euphoric for this guest design project for March and to inspire you all with a simplistic and compelling project which is easy to make. The mood board of March is full of colors and I love playing with colors. I am sharing a mixed media canvas with you all.

I have followed simple steps to create this canvas starting with base priming with gesso. Here I have taken a pre primed canvas and have applied colored texture paste across the canvas. Stamping the base with scripted text and arrow heads stamps here and there. Thereafter making ready all the elements like chipboards  and frame for the project by embossing them. Some other elements like flowers, die cuts and lace. And then placing them in a cohesive way to complete the flow of the project. Few beads and glitters added using a soft gel medium . Finally distressed the border to complete the canvas. You can watch the step by step process of the project creation  on my you tube channel or read it on my blog. I truly hope you all like the project and  feel motivated to create something unique and participate in the MMA March challenge.
