1. I took a MDF base and start attaching various clay moulds embellishments to enhance my focal point.

2. I covered the entire project with black gesso.

3. I applied crackle paste at few places and dry.

4. I played around with splashes, waxes, paints to give my project the desired look.

January DT Inspirations ~ Second Reveal

Hello Mixed Media Academy Challenge Fans...!!!

We are back again with some amazing Design Team inspirations for January Challenge. This month we want you to create a Mixed Media project around our Mood board using at least 3 colors from the circles in the Mood board.

DESIGN TEAM INSPIRATIONS

Now over to our Design Team Inspirations

I have created an altered canvas ! I am inspired by pictures of trees and stones of mood board! These colours gives good energy to start new year with a positive thought that
“Hope Grows Everywhere “ !

I bring you my canvas that was inspired by January mood board..
This majestic creature, "The Elephant", has always put me in awe.. absolutely love to admire them.. Keeping it as my focal point, I have added actual stones around it to give some texture...
The one quote that elephants inspires me is..
"Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness"

Hope comes from heart... which makes smile or happiness on the minds.
"Thee journey of thousands miles begins with you" is hope between the the couple which helps to build beautiful journey of their life. It looks like the hot air balloon float in the sky. Or drops of their happiness spreading around them.

Yes its only hope that makes you wake up each morning and drives you to achieve that is not possible. Inspired from wonderful moodboard.
Hoping to start new year with fresh dreams and new hope.

I named my canvas "Grow". My inspiration for the new year is how we grow together and how we're learning about the whole situation (the pandemic one). I've been inspired by the mood board colors and their nice photos.

''Hope is a waking dream'' I am inspired by the January mood board Every year , we have new hope for our life. Its like waking dream. Never loose hope for your dreams. I portrayed lady and stones in the project . This lady is dreaming and hoping to achieve something and there are stones around her (difficulties in her journey ) so no matter how difficult your life is , just keep on walking to achieve your dreams . I used stones and 3 colours from the colour palette of the moodboard.

Nothing is more powerful then hope that so softly finds its way Into our bodies. In broken minds and dark heart and i choose to holds the idea, that there is light in every night and a spark in every human mind for hope.. It's grow anywhere!!

Happy New Year to all 🥳🥳🥳.
I created a modified vase in the mix media technique, inspired by our beautiful mood board this month.

I made the texture of the base of the vase look like mountains with a texture paste and I decided to play with our mood board colors-turquoise and purple, adding a little gray.
I hope everything will be fine.

Do you feel inspired!

Design Team Members...

 DT  REVEAL

I prepared a layout called ‘Discover’ inspired by January challenge moodboard. The quote ‘HOPE grows everywhere’ and elephants on the photo reminded me about my honeymoon on Sri Lanka. It has been the largest trip in my life, full of happiness and HOPE. I discovered not only the different country and nature but myself during that trip. I used the nature theme presented on moodboard: stones, rocks and forest. I used the paper with stones and natural stones. I also added different leaves made of paper, chipboard and material flowers. I used fully the grey with blue shades color palette using scrapbooking paper in the background.

My Art journal page "If you choose hope, everything is possible." I took inspiration from our beautiful Moodboard this month and used some of the elements. Created the background with stencil and crackle paste, stamps and papers. Also I chose to work around our Moodboard colours grey, dark grey, teal and Mauve which are just amazing. We will start this year with Hope for normalcy.

I love all the different natural textures on the MMA January moodboard- the pebbles, the wrinkles in the elephants skin, the clouds in the sky. Together with the quote, it made me think about how winter may be cold and dark but nature is always waiting, sleeping until the warmer days when new life can spring from the soil. There is always hope that tomorrow will bring new possibilities.
I used lots of elements to recreate the textures including art stones, metal embellishments, chipboard and plant leaves.

Hope!!! What a powerful word... the best medicine for all in this pandemic. Let us all hope that 2021 is a better one, while we work for the best. Because hope lies in dreams, in imagination and in the courage of those who dare to make dreams into reality.

I prepared two balls for new year tree! A little paste, a little paper and flowers..

New Year - new luck and hope for something better. This is my new Art Journal for 2021. I love making my own journals. I sew covers, color the fabric if necessary, and decorate as I like.
I was inspired by the colors of the moodboard for January. I sprayed with 2 types of spray the fabric, sewed the covers, and painted with acrylic paints elements of chipboard. I used Stamperia papers and chose a great elephant tag. I used all the colors from the palette because they really combine very beautiful.

I took the little chair, the lighthouse and the cobble Stones from the moodboard and created my canvas with these pieces in mind. Because of the lighthouse I wanted a sea theme canvas so I decorated it with more sea related items. The blue and gray colours are from the moodboard as well!
Hope that my project inspire you to make something beautiful!

Inspired by unique and amazing moodboard of this month, I have created a canvas layout to motivate you to never give up HOPE.

Hope is growing everywhere. Even in gloomy places where the sun almost never comes. There, even a drop of color is perceived as a holiday.
