I am Kriti Mishra, I am from Hyderabad. I had done masters in Information Technology, and was an Astt. Prof. at a reputed engineering college. But left the job after my daughter, Akshada, was born, she is 6 years old and now I am a full time mother. But she allows me to do some creative work. I can see a good artist in her also. Recently, I was blessed with my second daughter, Aadriti. Right from my childhood, I am into crafting, , I always loved making handmade cards and it is my passion.  I am more into Scrapbooking and making mini albums(but now exploring Mixed - media and Flower making) and love to use different kinds of products to enhance my creativity and to share some knowledge with other people around.

My Project

About the project

This is a canvas, that I had created for each and  every girl who can dream of fairy tales and work hard to make at least one true. 

This is for you, to the girl, who reads by flashlight, who sees dragons in the clouds, who feels most alive in worlds that never were, who knows magic is real and who dreams....

This canvas is also for the girls who no longer believe in fairy tales or happy endings. I want to tell them that you are the writer of your own story. Chin up and work hard. you and only you know how to rule it.

This is for the girls who live happily after on their own terms. This is for you. This is for me. This is for SHE. You are a warrior. Be the hero of your own epic fairy tale and make them true....

Instructions

1. I took a canvas of size 6" x 8" and covered entirely it with gesso using sponge.

2. Next, I took a script stencil and applied modelling paste over the area that I wanted.

3. After that sprayed two shades of spray paint pink and brown.

4. To give some extra interest....done some stamping using black archival ink and script stamp. I had distressed the edges also using black archival ink to give some depth to the canvas.

5. Now the most interest and time taking part was the composition. For that I have fussy cut some flowers and butterflies from the paper pack, torn few sheets to make the base for the focal point,collected some embellishments like flowers, buttons, chipboards, cheese cloth, sisal, deco stones and glass beads.

6. Arranged all the components....and my canvas was ready.

In this canvas, the butterfly represent the girl, who lives in a fantasy world( her fairy tales)....had lots of wishes in her life which she wants to make  true.....she works hard for it....by spreading her wings....and made them true.
